Now Out: Essay 2009 on 傲 (arrogant) and 5 New-Monics

The 298th essay has posted! Essay 2009 on 傲 (arrogant) is now available for purchase. Here's a preview:

Find out why 岸 (beach) is in a term for "arrogance," learn how treating others to a meal might relate to 傲, see why people often refer to a clan from 800+ years ago, discover who wrote a book with the translated title "Japanese Arrogance, Korean Arrogance," and learn to say, "The foreign missionaries treated the Chinese with the arrogance of those who belonged to a victorious nation."

Using the accompanying game on the Character Home Page, you can practice the vocabulary in the essay after reading it.

Also, Ulrike created the following new-monics (which are free!):

賓 (1744: guest)
扶 (1748: to support)
幅 (1764: width)
雰 (1769: atmosphere)
塀 (1777: fence)

And some great news: For months the mnemonics were terribly slow to load, but the problem has been fixed, and you can now enjoy mnemonics with no delay!
