Synopsis

With 伏, you can talk about submitting to others, saying, "At last he yielded" and "I would rather die than surrender." Conversely, you can use 伏 to knock others down, subdue opponents, or at least persuade them of something. With 伏 you could also say, "emotional ups and downs," "I sleep face-down," and "Get down!"
