Now Out: Essay 2048 on 箋 (to Carry Out) and 5 New-Monics

The 208th essay has posted! Essay 2048 on 箋 (piece of paper, tag) is now available for purchase. Here's a preview:

For millennia, humans have jotted down notes, and 箋 has long served that purpose. Find out which materials the ancient Chinese and Japanese wrote on before paper. Also learn terms for pieces of paper that serve various functions, from Post-its and stationery to prescriptions. As several images show in this illustration-packed essay, the word for "prescription" can be richly figurative.

Using the accompanying Phrase Maze game on the Character Home Page, you can practice the vocabulary in the essay after reading it.

Also, Ulrike has produced a batch of new-monics (which are free!):

合 (121: to combine)
国 (123: country)
紙 (132: paper)
銀 (263: silver)
湖 (276: lake)
